Manette LaChance developed The LaChance Method® in response to her clients who were in need of mild, gradually progressive exercise programs because of inactivity, lack of motivation, age and a variety of impairments from injury, surgery or other physical conditions. Her clients range in age from the very young (children as young as 8 or 9) to baby boomers to seniors well into their 80’s.
For the past 15 years, Manette’s primary focus has been working with people with degenerative and autoimmune conditions such as osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and osteopenia, Crohn’s, fibromyalgia, lupus, M.S., Gauche’s, post-polio, cerebral palsy, cancer, congestive heart failure, and hypertension. Together with their physicians and therapists, The LaChance Method® has helped these individuals develop a positive sense of well-being and achieve and maintain improved flexibility, strength, and balance. Many have been able to safely enter appropriately tailored cardiovascular conditioning programs. The LaChance Method® has allowed all of them to maintain activities of daily living, and for most, return to a wide variety of recreational activities that they engage in on a regular basis with less pain and more stamina.
